Venita Olson of the Alzheimer’s Association will lead this caregiver-focused workshop, offering practical guidance for those supporting someone living with dementia. The session will explore common behavior changes, how those behaviors may serve as a form of communication, non-medical approaches for responding effectively, and signs that additional support may be needed.

 

Sara Perry, executive director of Respite Care Charleston, will share information about local participant programs and caregiver support groups available in the community.

This workshop will take place in Live Oak Hall at the Seabrook Island Lake House on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
