Q: Area of Coverage: Do you accept members from Kiawah Island and/or Kiawah River Estates?
A: Kiawah River Estates has joined Seabrook Island Village Neighbors Helping Neighbors as a “spoke” Village. This includes same benefits of volunteer services, social opportunities and educational events.
Q: Membersip Timing: Can I join for less than one year?
A: We offer yearly and 3-month monthly memberships
Q: Membership Timing: Do I have to join at any particular time of the year?
A: No. However, all Memberships end on the last day of the year in which it began.
Q: Membership Cost: How much do you charge for a year?
A: There are two membership levels: Annual is $200 and Quarterly is $90 (3 months) for short-term needs. Memberships that are activated into a given year are pro-rated for the remaining months through December 31.
Q: Membership Cost: Why is there a fee if this is a volunteer organization?
A: We do have expenses such as insurance, volunteer vetting, computer software to match volunteers with member requests, etc.
Q: Donations: Are donations tax deductible?
A: Yes. SIV is a 501(c)(3) organization.
Q: Transportation: Do you provide transportation to Charleston Airport?
A: No because there are individual businesses available that provide that service. Our commitment is to ensure transportation to medical appointments are always given priority.
